The Founder’s Story

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Norma and I am the owner and operator of Craft Country By Norma. Everything in the store (minus the boutique clothing) is handmade or grown by me on my homestead. I have been making things as long as I can remember and I have been sewing since I was probably six. I have always loved crafting in some way and tried to find ways to make money with my crafting. I did go away from it for a little bit after high school but when I was pregnant with my son, I decided to start back into crafting.

One of my other passions that kind of influenced the name of my company is horses and all things western and country. I have been on the back of a horse since before I could even crawl. I have love animals of all kinds as long as I can remember. That’s why I really wanted to do something not only for people but animals as well, and what better way to combine those together than to make it western.

I tried starting a western boutique during the pandemic to try to make extra money. It never took of the way I really wanted it to do. So I then started my Etsy shop and that did a little better but still not the level I wanted. I made the decision that winter to get a Cricut and launch my crafting. I actually started doing craft fairs and that has really brought out my business in the public eye in my community. I am still working on building my community online to go beyond just craft shows. I hope you stick around to see what new is coming and to support my small business!
